Dr. Sarah Ainsworth Hendry was raised in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. She spent most of your childhood riding horses and showing dairy cattle, but it was not until high school with the help of her Assumption Ag Teachers that Dr. Hendry became interested in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hendry attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate degree and spent her summers working in the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Large Animal Department assisting with various research projects. She graduated in 2016 with a degree in Animal Science, Summa Cum Laude from LSU. In 2020, she earned her Doctorate Degree from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include Dermatology, Wellness Visits, and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hendry and her husband, Coby Hendry, have a daughter, Ainsley. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, attending rodeos, and chasing her adventurous toddler. Dr. Hendry is a hound fanatic. She has two Basset Hounds – Augustus McCrae and Daisy Mae - along with one super mutt – Scout Lane. Most of the time they longue around, follow Ainsley, and beg for Dr. Hendry’s attention.
Dr. Timothy Leonards was raised in a rural setting in Crowley, Louisiana, surrounded by agriculture. Dr. Leonards attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude. He spent his summers at the LSU Ag Center Rice Research Center focusing mainly on agricultural work. He then moved to Baton Rouge with high hopes of being accepted into the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. During that time, he was employed at the LSU Ag Center Poultry Unit and worked for two summers at Animal Health of Baton Rouge as a veterinary assistant. Dr. Leonards graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 & received the Bayer Award for Excellence in Dermatology during his clinical rotations. Professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Leonards and his wife, Holly, have a son, Nathan. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and trying to stay in shape. Personal interests include tinkering with electronics and building things. Dr. Leonards’ extended family includes an orange tabby named He-Man, a Highlander-Simese cross named Ibby, and a red-footed tortoise named Ray. His cats generally do nothing around the house but do enjoy waking their family in the early morning for no reason at all.
Barbi came to Animal Health Clinic with 12 years of Veterinary Management experience and a passion for serving those who care for pets. She is a graduate of both Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University. Barbi started in the veterinary industry in 2014 as an accountant, and discovered her passion for the field. She has a strong core value of kindness and practices servant leadership in all that she accomplishes.
Barbi and her husband of 29 years are high school sweethearts who share a daughter and a son. In her spare time, Barbi loves to read and take care of her 2 cats and 1 dog - all rescues.
